What is GLAZED?

Donut SMP Auction House insights.

GLAZED tracks and presents data about the in-game economy of Donut SMP.

Donut SMP is currently the largest survival Minecraft server and has a huge, active player base. Naturally, the in-game economy is extremely active.

On GLAZED, you'll find recent and historical price and volume data for every known Minecraft item.

Why tho?

Sorry, pal.

If you're asking questions like that, you're definitely NGMI.

What data is available?

Settled auction house transactions.

At present, all data is based solely on settled Auction House transactions that have been finalised by the Donut SMP game server.

For each settled transaction, GLAZED can see:

  • The player who created the Auction House listing (sold the items).
  • The time at which the listing was sold.
  • The amount paid.
  • The item sold, including items contained within shulker boxes.
  • The quantity of items sold.

The latest settled transactions are constantly requested, processed, and stored in the GLAZED database.

The transaction data stored in that database is used to derive all other information presented on the website, detailed below.

A quick note

Early doors

At this point in time, GLAZED has only been active for a couple of days. This means that there isn't a whole lot of historical data to work with.

Over time, as more data is collected, the historical data will become more meaningful (and potentially valuable).

If you're interested, you can read about the limitations of the currently available data here.

Global market data

Aggregate signals on the homepage.

On the homepage, you can see a small amount of data about the broader Donut SMP market.

At the moment, this is limited to:

  • A number of the most recent transactions across all items.
  • The most traded items since the data collection service last came online.

This will soon expand to include more data about the overall market, but introducing such things requires pain. Lots of pain. Dealing with tedious database stuff kind of pain.

In addition to this, the header displayed on every page of the website shows the total number of unique transactions and players stored in our database.

Item data

Per-item time series and recent activity.

You can view data for a specific item by navigating to an item's page. This is easily done using the search box present in the header displayed on every page of the website.

For an example of a high-volume item, see the item page for Redstone Dust.

On the item page, you'll see the following data derived from collected transactions:

  • Recent and historical average price per item.
  • Average price per item, average price per stack of items, volume, and trade number for several different timespans.
  • A chart that can display price per item or price per stack and volume or number of trades.
  • The fifteen most recent transactions for the item.

To clarify the difference between volume and trades: for each tracked transaction, volume increases by the quantity of items sold. Trades, on the other hand, always increases by one.

Future plans

More.

Things are still in the early stages and there is a ton of opportunity to expand GLAZED to provide more useful information. Specifically, the following is in the works:

  • List for market-wide top traded items across multiple timeframes. Similar to what already exists on the homepage, but with different timeframes available.
  • List for market-wide top volume items across multiple timeframes.
  • Player profiles showing a player's most recent transactions, their most traded items, and metrics about their recent and historical trade volume.

More is to come. If you have any ideas, make them known.
